Get Moving Without the Gym
Gyms are packed this time of year which makes finding a spot to move your body not so simple and sometimes, stressful! Instead of braving the busy yoga room, try these fun ways to move your body that don’t involve a treadmill, dumbbell, or pilates machine:
Dance It Out! 🕺🏼 Whether you're taking an online dance class or just blasting your favorite playlist at home, dancing is a great way to get your heart pumping and have a blast. No rhythm required!
Take a Hike! 🏔 If you are like us and located in the PNW, there is absolutely NO REASON you need to go to the gym and use a stair stepper. Bundle up and head out to one of the hundreds of trails surrounding us and climb Earth’s natural stairs! And if you are not located in the PNW, you can still find a local trail or just a big hill with a sidewalk! Grab a friend, a dog, your friend’s dog and get moving!
Household Chores! 🧹 This is what we call two birds, one stone. The chores must get done one way or another, so how about turning on some tunes and breaking a sweat while you are at it? Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping can get your heart rate up and tone your muscles! Add some wrist or ankle weights for an extra burn.
Pick A Sport! 🎾 Grab a ball, a frisbee, or a racquet and head to a local park or beach for a casual game. Whether it’s soccer, pickle ball, tennis, volleyball or even a friendly game of catch, playing sports is a great way to stay active and have fun. Plus, you don’t have to be good at it to work up an amazing sweat!
