How to Clean Activewear 101
We all love our activewear—whether it's for a sweaty gym session, a yoga class, or just running errands. And if we’re being honest, we’re probably wearing our favorite pair of leggings more than our favorite pair of jeans, right? Which also means, we’re washing them more.
Following these 5 simple washing techniques will help you get the most life out of your activewear — helping you wear it for longer & get more out of it when you are ready to trade for something new 👟🧼
Turn Inside Out: Washing clothes inside out helps protect the outer fabric from friction, preserving color & elasticity!
Use Cold Water: Hot water can degrade performance fabrics and cause shrinkage. Stick to cold water to keep everything fitting exactly the way you like it.
Avoid Fabric Softener: It may smell great, but fabric softeners leave a residue that can clog the moisture-wicking magic in your activewear. Go for a mild detergent instead!
Air Dry Everything: We know tossing your gear in the dryer is the easiest and fastest method, but it can ruin the fabric’s stretch. Lay it flat or hang it to dry so it stays in tip-top shape.
Wear Together, Wash Together: Wash all your activewear together and separately from normal clothes, towels, sheets, etc. This will keep your activewear fabrics from rubbing up against harsher textures that can ruin the softness.
