What We Look For (& Avoid) When Buying Activewear

We’re serious about quality control at Revive Athletics, and we know our customers are too! Every piece of clothing that comes into our store passes a strict quality control test before it hits our shelves. So what do we look for when we’re buying? And what makes us pass on a piece? Here’s the inside scoop:

What We Look For When Buying Activewear

1. Great Condition & Minimal Wear

We love pieces that look and feel almost new. Lightly worn is totally fine, but we check for things like fabric pilling, logo fading, pulling at the seams, or signs of overuse. If it still looks sharp, we’re interested!

2. High-Quality Brands That Last

Not all activewear is created equal, which is why we only buy high-quality brands known for durability and performance—think Lululemon, Vuori, Athleta, Nike, and Alo Yoga. These pieces tend to hold up well and stay stylish through many wears.

3. Clean, Fresh, and Ready to Go

We accept freshly laundered items only—no odors, stains, or excessive pet hair, please! If it’s something you’d be excited to put on and head to the gym in, it’s probably ready to be #revived!

What We Avoid When Buying Activewear

1. Stretched-Out or Damaged Elastic

If leggings won’t stay up or bra straps have lost their support, they don’t make the cut. We want our customers to feel confident and secure during their workouts—no saggy seams allowed.

2. Low Quality Brands

As we said, not all activewear is created equal, even if it looks like it is! Low-quality brands (like Amazon, Shein, etc.) won’t stand the test of time, let alone multiple sweat sessions and trips to the washing machine. We only buy brands that will last!

3. Stains, Odors, or Tears

We’re super picky about the condition of the clothes we buy in! Any visible stains, lingering smells, holes, or snags will disqualify an item, even if it’s from a top-tier brand.
